A comprehensive training day for your staff who are administering diabetes related injectable medication. You will need to provide a suitable space for the training.
The insulin training includes:
Correct technique for blood glucose level testing
How to accurately document blood glucose levels including filling in record books (template provided)
When to test ketones and how to use ketone strips
Hyperglycaemia: causes, symptoms and treatment
Hypoglycaemia: causes, symptoms and treatment
Diabetes medications: food interactions, medications that can cause hypos
Sick day management plan
Different types of insulin and how they work
Safe insulin injection technique, specific to the participants needs (doses and food), safe sharps disposal etc
*GLP-1s can be included if required
Carbohydrate and insulin relationship
Training insulin pens provided for injection technique to be assessed
Case study examples
Knowledge quiz
Certificate provided that states they have been adequately trained in the above (lasts for 12 months)
Sessions run at $150 per person with a lower limit of 5 people needed in attendance
